MSR Platform Rules

Why are these rules necessary?

These rules help us maintain the integrity of the platform, ensure clean and honest behavioural data, and protect the community from fraud and misuse.

By following these guidelines, you help us deliver meaningful research while keeping the experience rewarding and secure for all users.

Failure to follow these rules will result in your account being permanently banned.

No More Than 3 Referrals in First Week - Max 3 referrals in your first week

Having more than 3 referrals within the first week of activeness on the MSR platform will result in your account being automatically placed on hold.

One Mobile Device Per Account - Use only one personal device

Each MSR account must be linked to one personal device only. Using multiple phones, emulators, or borrowed devices to access MSR is not allowed.

One Account Per Person - Only one account per user

Each user is only allowed one unique account tied to their personal details. Duplicate accounts (same person registering multiple times) are not permitted.

No File Sharing - Don’t submit someone else’s files

Each user must only upload their own data files (Google Takeout, Facebook, TikTok, etc.). Submitting a file from another person, even with permission, is considered file sharing and not allowed. Our system checks for such procedures and will automatically place accounts on ban if discovered.

No File Alteration - Don’t change your files

When completing file retro tasks (Google Takeout, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.), users must upload the file exactly as provided by the platform.

Users must not:

  • Compress it incorrectly (like putting zips inside zips). The system expects the raw, untouched file to verify authenticity. Repackage it into a different format (e.g., convert JSON to Excel)
  • Edit, delete, or add information inside the file
  • Repackage it into a different format (e.g., convert JSON to Excel)

Any other technique deliberately used to bypass our checks, lower the quality of data, or game the system is considered fraudulent behaviour. This kind of activity harms the quality of our research and will be taken seriously. Accounts involved can be permanently banned at the discretion of our Support and Fraud review teams. All discrepancies are investigated through our fraud management process.
